This is not an answer to your question, but hopefully a clue. Our Mary Waller Johnston (b.
1759 in Spotsyvania Co., VA to Henry Goodloe Johnston and Agnes Carr Waller) is said to
have married a Cason (given name unknown) and moved to South Carolina where she died Sept.
23, 1788; possibly without issue. This is from a genealogy done around 1903 by a Johnston
cousin. A clue that confirms the the two familes were known to each other; Wm.
Crozier's Spotsylvania Co., Va records show a Henry Johns(t)on as a witness to a deed
of gift from Edward Cason of Spots. Co. to his daughter-in-law, Susannah Cason on May 1,
1766. The gift was 200 acres in Spots. Co. Other witnesses were Wm. Underwood, Geo.
Stubblefield and John Carthrae.
