DIRECT LINEAGE OF CARL CASON to EDWARD CASON
* Edward CASON (cir 1710) - (1785) m. (abt 1735) Joanna BUTCHER
(cir 1710) -
Edward was known to be living in Spotsylvania Co. most of his life.
Joanna Butcher is shown as his wife in a number of references to land
transactions in addition to his will. All his children were named in
his will, except for two deceased: son John, and a daughter who
married James Shackleford. He may have had another daughter, Mary
Cason, who married Robert King, Jr. 28 Feb 1741 (Crozier pg 168).
. * John CASON (cir 1730) - (by 1766) m. Susannah unknown
(cir 1730) - (1821)
John was named as a son of Edward Cason when Edward deeded some land
in Spotsylvania Co. to his grandson, Edward "Jr" of Hanover Co.,VA, in
Sep 1779. In that transaction, Edward (Sr) indicated that Edward Jr.
was the son of his son John. Wording indicated John was deceased at
that time. Edward Sr. deeded land to Susannah as early as May 1766,
so John was probably deceased at that time. See notes on Susannah.
See extended notes on James Cason.

Could I please call upon every one of the plus minus 80 subscribers to
the
CASON list to re-introduce yourselves to the list - a bit about yourself -
your research field - problems, questions etc. so that everyone can see what
you are doing and so that we can build up a file of reseach done - who knows -
possibly in the future some one might just come accross a name or date that
you still need. Help everyone who is interested to get to know this wonderful
family. Have any books/articles been written about the Cason family?
One book I have is titled "Cason Cousins---Cason, Allums,Harris, Carr,
& Relate Families", vol I, compiled by Thomas Edward Cason, Jr. and
Alma Dean Lester Cason. No copyright date shown, but it was published
within the last 7 years. Address of the authors given in the book
