Hi everyone.
I am looking for information on the following family (families?)
James H. (Hyman) CASNER b. 16 Jul 1851 in OH, d. 11 Feb 1932 in MI
buried Salt River Cemetary, Isabella County, MI. He was married 1 Jul
1868 in OH to Edna Genevra STEVENS b. 6 Nov 1851 in OH d. 18 Oct 1931 in
MI. She is buried next to her husband. They had the following
children:
Laura Ann b. 27 May 1870
Chauncy D b 30 Nov 1871
Stephen Matthew b. 27 Jun 1873
Jesse b. 24 Aug 1876
William b. 18 Mar 1878
Myrtle b. 11 Sep 1880
Bertha b. 11 Sep 1880
Minnie b. 21 Mar 1883
Harvey b. 9 Mar 1885
Rose b. b. 7 Jan 1887
Martha b. 15 Apr 1889
James b. 24 Mar 1893 (not sure if he is their child or a grandchild)
They are also listed with a Lillian Casner born 13 May 1899. She is
believed to be their grandchild, but I don't which of James and Edna's
children are her mother/father. I would assume because of the last name
that she is the daughter of one of their sons. But you never know.
There may also be another child by the name of Carrie. I have no idea
how she fits in yet.
James H. CASNER's parents may be Leonard Levi CASNER b. 1805 in PA d.
1867 in Huron County, OH and Mary Ann BENNINGTON b. abt 1805 in OH d.
1877 in Huron County, OH. If these are his parents then he has a
brother Peter Casner b. 2 Sep 1843 in OH d. 18 Oct 1925 in Isabella
County, MI. There are rumors that the CASNER family was run out Ohio for
legal troubles possibly horse thievery. If anyone has info on this
family I would appreciate hearing from you.
