Much appreciation to another Casner researcher who supplied me with a
chapter from the book 'Murders in Polo Duro Canyon' by George Turner.
Does anyone have access to this book to give me the name of the
publisher and the year published?
According to the book, two CASNER brothers (William 'Bill' and Daniel
'Dan') were murdered in the spring of 1876 while herding their sheep in
the Canyon. The story goes that they were supposed to be carrying some
$5500 dollars in gold which they had obtained from prosepecting in CA;
the person who murdered them wanted the gold.
Does anyone have more detailed information as to the birth dates/place
for Bill and Dan; were they married? to whom? Did they have children?
Am willing to share the information which I have collected on this
verrrrrrry interesting family.
