There is a book titled 'West Virginians in the American Revolution'
compiled by Ross B. Johnston, Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc.,
Baltimore, 1977 which lists as follows:
CASNER, Adam
(Service-PA Va No. 12550 No. S-9141)
Born in Germany, 1747, and came with his father's family to America,
1764. Lived in Cumberland Couty, PA, when the Revolution started. Moved
to Brooke Co., VA in 1814.
Enlisted in the fall of 1776 and served nine months as a private under
Captain Culbertson and Colonel Johnston of the Pennsylvania Line. Paton
and Lacy commanded his troop. Soldier was twice discharged by Colonel
Johnston, once by Colonel Buchanan, and once by Captain Poe. Was with
Washington's army at Vallley Forge. Applied for pension, August, 1832,
Franklin County, PA.
Has anyone researched the ancestors/descendants of this particular
CASNER? If so, did he have a son or grand son by the name of Jonas
Casner who was married in 1801 to Nancy Wright in Washington Co., VA.
