I recently obtained information from Washington Co., VA about my CASNER
line. My oldest known ancestor was married in 1801 in that location. I was
overwhelmed with the information; am still sifting through it; the
information took my particular line back two more generations.
The name is spelled many ways (Kestner, Kastner, Kaestner, Kesner, Kisner,
Kissner, Kesnor, Casnor, casner, Cisner, Etc.) - my line evolved to Casner.
I guess what I am saying is that it pays to make a contribution to a
genealogical society/library when you send a request to them. The volunteer
who looked up the information was most helpful. It did take about eight
weeks (I had almost forgotten I had sent it) but worth the wait.
