Hello List:
It has been a while since I've seen anything come across from this list. I have been
out of state for a couple of weeks.
My Casner line began with Jonas Casner who married Nancy Wright in 1801 in VA; they
migrated to MO circa 1818 where both later died. They had six children (Eben, William,
John, Henry, Charlotte, Judy). All remained in MO except Henry. Those remaining in MO
were very prolific and often married. Some went to AR and KS.
Henry Casner married Jincy Jane Fields in 1822 in Ray County, MO. They left MO and went
to IA. Some of their 14 children were born in MO, others in IA. The children were:
(1) William 'Bill' Casner (b1825 IA d1876 TX)
(2) Ebeneer Casner (b.1827)
(3) John Canser (b1829 d circa 1903)
(4) Jonas 'James' Carsner (b9-24-1824 d12-12-1869 OR)
(5)Andrew Jackson Carsner (b 1836 d3-1890 OR)
(6) Moses H. Casner 9b1837 d 10-19-1912 AZ)
(7) Daniel 'Dan' Canser (b1837 IA d1876 TX)
(8) Nancy Jane Casner (b1-25-1839 MO d2-21-1892 OR) married Harvey Fields in OR
(9) James 'Jim' A. Canser (b12-1839 MO) probably died in OR
(10) Henry Casner 9b1840 MO
(11) Riley Casner (b 7-9-1843 IA d 11-27-1909 AZ)
(12) George W. Canser (b1852 IA d circa 1884 NV) - George actually is a grandson of Jincy
Jane Casner.
(13)Unknown Male
(14) Unknown Male - possibly Frank Casner who died in Kern Co., CA circa 1899.
Henry died in 1847 in IA. Of the 14 children, there was only one daughter. Many of the
sons were in trouble with the law in IL and IA. Jincy and her family moved to OR circa
1850. The family was in OR until circa 1875 when there was a splint in the family; Jincy
and some of the sons went to AZ and spelled the name CASNER. Those that remained in OR
& WA spelled the name CARSNER. Those that went to AZ also traveled NV, NM, and TX.
Those that remained in OR & WA married often.
This family is full of mystery and intrigue. If there are any descendants of these people
out there, or if you think you are connected, I would like to hear from you. I have
extensive information that I am willing to share - but still have gaps in the information
that I would like to fill in.
