COPIED FROM THE FIRST ENTRY IN THE FIRST PART OF:
The Mohawk Valley Caslers and Allied Families book was written
about,"Johannes Kessler of the Mohawk Valley Kesslers was on the Hunter Lists of 24
June
1711."
The first half of the book is all about the decendants of this person.
INTRODUCTION TO PART TWO
"While the descendants of Johannes Kessler who came to Herkimer County was
the top priority for this book, there were other Caslers who came in the same
Palatine Emigration that have been included in the section. Such as these
references to L.D. MacWhethy's Book Of Names (1933) List of Palatines 1709 from
second list of 1193 people May 27, 1709 was John Adam Keiser . . .
Casper Kessler age 64 with a 20 year old son and 25 year old daughter
and many other names.
From 30,000 Palatines by RUPP
Casper Kessler arrived Sept 26, 1743
and a list of many other names
As I don't have the census you are talking all I can say is in the book there
is a 3 generation chart starting with 1678 through 1855 which has 2
Melchoirs, 7 Johns or different spellings of John and one Adamus. I wouldn't be able
to tell you if any of these are yours as I don't know how they actually fit in
your research.
Also may I suggest you contact the Herkimer County Historical Society. They
still have copies of the book for sale and they did a lookup for me before I
even considered buying book. I wish you happy hunting.
I have been looking for one distant grandfather who should be in NY around
1780. I have looked for him for 15 years and still can't find him. I have his
wife all his children and down 5 generations but I can't find him. I am still
trying.
