Is this the Mohawk Velley Caslers and Allied Family book that you are talking about? If
so, have any Casler researchers found connections between any of the people in the back of
the book yet?
My family line is mentioned in the back of the book. There are a few errors in what is
printed, but most of it is okay. Our entry is on pages 188 and 189. EY1. It states that
John Keller might be the son of Michael and Betsy Keller. We believe that this is an
error. We are strongly speculating that the father of John had the name of Jacob who was
living in Little Falls and his father had the name of Henry who also lived in Little
Falls. We have no proof, though, except the 1800 census. The only two Kellers living
near any Caslers were a Jacob and a Henry All other Kellers in 1800 were living
Montgomery Cty and Schoh Cty and Dut and Greene cty. (Our John was born 1800ish to become
60 years old on the 1860 census. The 1860 Wis census states he was 60 years old and still
living.) The Jacob numbers check out in 1820 for an older boy to be still living home.
It says in EY1 that John Keller married Catharina Casler b 1807, daughter of Casper
Casler. We do not believe Catharina was born in 1807, nor 1802. We think she was born in
1803. She had a baby in 1824.
We do know for sure that John and Catharina were married at the Fort Herkimer Church in
1823 and baptized three boys there...Michael, Isaac, and James H.(our great great grand
father.)
Does anyone know about this Casper Casler and what kind of data would there be on him?
Does anyone know about the Kellers in Little Falls?
Could there be a connection between these two Kellers and the Caslers?
