Edwin Robert Casler passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at his Galion, Ohio residence
surrounded by family.
He was 62.
Born in Mansfield, Ohio on October 27, 1950 he was the son of the Rev. Edwin Alanzo and
Edith Pearl (Barrier) Casler.
On June 14, 1969 Edwin married Connie Meadows and they were happily married for 44 years.
He was employed by Mansfield Pottery and worked there for 7 years cleaning the kilns.
He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a good heart who would take the shirt off
his own back to help someone in need.
In spare time, Edwin loved to hunt and fish. He would hunt for anything: deer, small
animals, and even roots like ginseng.
According to Ed, the best type of fishing was wade fishing, catfishing, anything to do
with fishing!
He was an excellent instructor for all kinds of outdoor activities.
He was a good dancer and a diehard country music fan.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Meadows) Casler; four children: Tina Casler
of Galion, Ronna Casler of Perrysville, Roger Casler of Edison, and Matthew Casler of
Edison; grandchildren: Maria Adkins, Clayton Adkins, Jacob Adkins, Chandish Purdy, Emily
Deckling, and Savanna Casler; four great-grandchildren; siblings: Patricia Ash, Roger
Casler, Sylvia Hudson, and Karen Lane; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Casler.
His family will receive friends Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at
the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, where a funeral service
will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Earl Eichlers and Chaplain Jedidiah Brake will
officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
Contributions in his memory to American Cancer Society may be made at the funeral home.
