John, I think Colleen is right that Jabez married Martha (Patsy) Powers
in 8-29-1810 NC. Her sister, or at least the researcher I talked to in
the Powers family said Sukey (Suzanna) Powers married Joel Cashion Jr.
(David's nephew, not your ancestor Joel in V irginia) 10-17-1811 in
Mecklenburg.
Following in Colleen's footsteps these are the notes I have under Thomas
III (Thomas, Thomas, James). Would love to have more information or
corrections. Carla

1830 Mecklenburg Co, NC
Thomas Sr. 2 in fmy (70/80)
Source John Cashion - Thomas Sr. wrote his will in Mecklenbrug Co, NC
August 21, 1834. His will was probated in Feb. 1835 and named his wife
Tabetha, son Thomas Jr, son Joby, and the children of his daughter Nancy
Worsham (I assusme that Nancy married a son of John and Dicey Cashion
Worsham but I don't know which one. Does anyone that that information?)
and the children of Martha Sloan (Martha who was also called Patsy
married David Sloan Jr. 11-5-1823, His sister Sarah Sloan married Thomas
Jr. 11-18-1820) . This will was witnessed by John and Elizabeth Cashon -
1835 Mecklenburg Co, NC Will Book G, #762, p. 201, (Thomas appears to
only list four of his children in his will, Thomas Jr., Jabez (Joby,
Jaby, many different spellings) Martha and Nancy. Below the pension
papers state that Thomas and Tabitha had eight children, the four living
sons named, Thomas Jr., Peter, Levi, Jabez - add to that the known
daughters, Elizabeth (Betsey who married Robert P. Wiley), Nancy and
Martha (Patsy) and we are only short one child - I think that was John.
I believe that Hannah who married Britian Wray and Mary who married
Thomas Sheppard were children of William Cashon.)

Affidavits
Stephen Archer states he was neighbor of Thomas in Va and NC and knows
Thomas served in Rev.
Thomas Cashon and his wife are both members of the Baptist Church
Mrs. Dicey Worsham states she is a near neighbor of Thomas Cashon
Burrell Cashon states that he is aged 74 and that he enlisted with
Thomas in Va and that Thomas is aged 75 and that Thomas moved to
Mecklenburg in 1800 - Again on May 21, 1842 Burrell Cashon states he was
present in Va when Thomas and Tabitha were married.
Clarification - Mrs. Dicey Worsham a native of Chesterfield, Va and near
neighbor to applicant and she testified that her brother (Burrell)
enlisted and served with Thomas Cashon in the tour to Portsmouth (Nowhere
does it state Thomas and Burrell were brothers! as Andrea suggested.)
Thomas Jr. states that his mother, Tabitha died June 1844
Jan 20, 1848 Peter Cashion of Cleveland Co, NC writes a letter with his
brother Jabez of Mecklenburg NC. They state their parents were married
in Chesterfield Co, Va and that both the father and mother are now dead.
His mother died without having a physican so far her funeral had never
been preached although she has been dead four years of the eight children
only four are now living (1848) - then pension was allowed and paid to
Thomas and after his death to his widow
