Here is what I have:
Archibald and Letty Shelton Cashion had 13 children
From SOME EARLY SETTLERS: LINCOLN COUNTY, TENNESSEE, Chapter III,
Cashions, pages 64-93.
"Archibald: Prior to 1800 he removed to Iredell County, North Carolina, with his
parents, James Cashion II and Nancy Weeks Cashion. He married Lettye in North Carolina
prior to 1815.
His wife, Lettye, born in VA, may have been a Shelton. Lettye was a very frequent Shelton
name. The Cashions and Sheltons had lived as neighbors in Chesterfield and Amelia
Counties, VA, about 1770 to 1790; in Mecklenburg, Iredell and Lincoln Cos., NC, about 1800
to 1820; and in Lincoln Co., TN about 1820 to 1875, and some even now."
"Archibald appears as head of a family in each census 1820 to 1860, inclusive. In
1820 the census shows Archiblad Cashion, age 20-30, 2 males under 10, 2 females under 10,
and one female 16-20."
"It appears that he spent his entire life, after coming to Lincoln Co, TN, in the
triangular area bounded by present Kelso, Flintville and Smithland. He died between 1860
and 1870, as revealed by the census records of those decades. He and his wife, Lettye,
were buried in the Jeans Graveyard."
"His children--In a letter to one of the writers from his uncle, A. J. Taylor, Kelso,
TN, January 11, 1925, he named among his uncles and aunts, children of Archibald Cashion,
the following: Temple, James, Andrew, Richard, John, Elizabeth, Millie and Jane. Of
course, his mother, Nancy Cashion Taylor, was among the children."
"Young may have died early, and consequently was not know to his nephew, A. J.
Taylor." (Young Cashion died during the Civil War.)
