A young cousin has a school project to define the meanings of his
name.
First two were no problem, but we are stuck on the meaning of
Cashon/Cashion. Found Cash from the Latin Cassius (vain one), but I
thought someone might have a better defination. Appreciate your help,
Valette
I think it would be very difficult to figure out, since we're not 100% sure
where this family originated, or even if all the people with similar names
are related and from the same country. However, I'd suspect that it's
either Irish Gaelic, or French-Irish. I have both French and Irish Gaelic
dictionaries, but they're still in boxes, so it could take me a bit to find
them, and right now I'm on a deadline. However, if I can find anything
this weekend, I'll let you know. Keep in mind that names are frequently
from archaic meanings or dialects, though, so even if we find something
that looks likely it's entirely possible that it could be completely off
the mark.
Cheers,
Katherine
