To anyone out there researching Thomas (s/o Thomas s/o James) who fought
in the Revolutionary War, collected a pension and was married to Tabitha
- do you have Tabitha's last name as Talbot and where did you get it? I
have Talbot also in my files, however in going back and looking at the
research all I can find is L. Andrea's papers which suggest Tabitha was
a Talbot and it doesn't look like good research. For instance her father
was suppose to be Haley Talbot who's will was proven in 1797 - he names
his children, not his wife, and only uses the daughter's name Tabitha.
Then Andrea found a Clark will, Allison Clark will proven in 1802 and it
names his daughter as phebe Talbot and his grand daughter as Tabitha
TALBOT. If Tabitha was still a Talbot in 1802 then she was not the wife
of Thomas Cashion. And it was fairly common for a female to be
identified by her married name once she was married which Tabitha would
have been for quite a while when Haley's will was written in 1797 - seems
strange she would not have been identified as Tabitha Cashion. Hope
someone can help clear this up. If you have other proof that Tabitha was
a Talbot please let me hear from you.
