It's possible. I do have a record of one George Franklin Cashion, b.
1845, son of Andrew "Andy" Cashion and Catherine Renegar, but according
to my information he died in Lincoln Co. TN in 1870. An old list of
cemetery records handed down to me from my Aunt Delia says he's buried
in the Renegar Cemetery in Mulberry, TN.
So, while this George Franklin is probably not the same as your Franklin
Cashion, it does at least show that the given name of Franklin was used
by this family. Your Franklin might be a so-far unidentified cousin.
However, most of the soldiers I know about in this family were in the
CSA, not the Union army.

I don't find any older Cashions in Jackson Co., IL. I think he

he was with in the army to get ay records.
We connot surf the web with Mail station, it is email only, and
does not handle attachments. We have lost several computers to virus
damage to the hard drive. Was using an anti virus all the time. Our
little internet server does not screen for virus, which seems self
defeating for them.
Thank you so much for your responses.
I have had to rebuild my FTM from memory and whatever
paper I have. joe
