Dear Connie,
What is your connection to the Cashion line?
I have a number of Cashions who served in the Civil War and I'll dig them
out if you are interested.
Regards,
John Cashion

Subject: [CASHION-L] Four CASON soldiers
Found an interesting tidbit while compiling Civil War research guides
for
the CASHION/CASON Research Project.
The following Confederate soldiers had at least one day and memorable
experience in common:
Private D CASON, of the I Company, 10th Infantry Regiment, Florida
Corp. Samuel R CASON, from Pitt County North Carolina, of E Co. 27th
Infantry
Regiment, North Carolina
Corp. Montgomery D CASON, from Warren County, GA, of B Co. 48th Infantry
Regiment,
Georgia
Lt. Hillary W CASON, from Ware County, GA, of B Co. 27th Infantry
Regiment,
Georgia.
All four were present and surrendered at Appomattox Court House, VA on 09
April
1865. lt. Hillary W. Cason was commanding his regiment at the time of
the surrender.
It will be interesting to learn if any of these men were related. Do
any of
you have any information about these men? If you have anything about
them, please tell us.
