If this Cashon who imigrated around 1700 was James Cashion, born
around 1698 & died 1759 in Chesterfield Co., VA, he was the progenitor
of the Cashion/Cashen/Cashoon family who had descendents in Lincoln
Co., TN in the 1800s. So far as I know, no one has yet discovered
where he came from, but Ireland (Ulster) is a frequent guess, and many
families who emigrated from there did come from Scotland earlier. But
we just don't know.
Cheers,
Katherine

Were the Cashons in Scotland before they were in Ireland ? My ancestor (
James Cashon or Cashoon) came over about 1700 and they landed either in B=
altimore
or the James River. I saw the certificate that he paid 50 shillings
whichprocured forhim 200 acres of land in Virginia , they lived southwest=
of
Richmond
in Chesterfield Co. For the life of me I cant find out where they
migrate=

from, most likely it was from Ireland.
