I have attempted to locate as many Cashen/Cashin/Cashion Families in Illinois
as I possible can. Here is some info I located, if you don't already have
it. One of my Cashens also married a Harris woman.

I have Cashen's from Illinois. Here's my info:
PETER CASHIN/CASHEN (??, County Cork, Ireland) married MARY MARGARET
HARRINGTON (abt 1808, Ireland -- 1874, Glenarms, Illinois). She came to
America through New Orleans, we believe in about 1851 (after the death of her
husband, Peter) and moved to Jacksonville, Illinois. Peter and Mary Margaret
had six children:
1. JOHN CASHEN (b abt 1825, County Cork, Ireland -- ?) married and had
at least two girls. No further information. We think this could possibly be
his daughter: Name: Mary Ann CASHEN
Sex: F
Birth: 9 JUN 1895 in Assumption, Christian Co., IL.
Death: 20 OCT 1966 in Oak Hill Ce., Taylorville, IL.
Marriage 1 William Corbett SANDAGE , Sr b: SEP 1893 in Perry Co. In.
Married: ABT. 1930 in Spencer Co., IN.
2. TIMOTHY CASHEN (1838, County Cork, Ireland -- 1885, Glen Arms,
Illinois). Buried in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Glen Arms, Illinois. Timothy
was a soldier in the Civil War and lost an arm in battle.

3. MARY CASHEN (?, County Cork, Ireland -- ?) m MICHAEL DOYLE (b 1832,
County Leitrim, Ireland -- ?) on 12/19/1865, Sangamon Co., Illinois. Mary
Cashen was a witness to the marriage of PATRICK ARDAGH and MARY ELLEN KENNY
on 10/20/1850 in St. Mary's Catherdral in Burlington, Vermont. The Ardahgs
moved to Illinois about 1852 and lived near Joliet all their lives.
4. ELIZABETH CASHEN (b 1840, County Cork, Ireland -- ?). Possible
marriage from SOS Illinois Website: ELKINS, SAMUEL F

5. MARGARET ANN CASHEN (b 1838, County Cork, Ireland -- ?) m. THOMAS MC
CART (b ? -- d 1926,?). Married in 1866, Virden, Illinois. They had 5

6. PETER CASHEN (12/28/1845 - 5/30/09) m. ELLEN KELLEY (8/28/1848 -
9/13/15) on 3/21/1866, in Springfield, Illinois. Both born in County Cork,
Ireland and both died in Morrisonville, Illinois.
On their wedding day, Ellen's mother, father, sister, brother-in-law and
sister's infant child drowned crossing the Sagnamon River in Illinois.
Peter and Ellen had 13 children:

I recently received info from an aunt that Peter Cashen may have had a
previous wife to Ellen. We have no facts.
MICHAEL TRIHEY married a JANE KELLY on 6/9/1869 in Sangamon Co., Illinois.
This should be ELLEN KELLEY/CASHEN's sister.
