Just letting everyone know that I am back to a point where I can spend hours
at my computer and at the library, so I am ready to move forward with our
CASHION project. I'll start organizing files this week and get ready to
start putting things on the web and posting bits of data as I find them.
The wedding was glorious on Mackinac Island in Michigan. We had horse drawn
carriages and everything. The ceremony was conducted by my uncle, John GROB,
a retired Methodist minister, in the oldest church in Michigan. We stayed
two nights on the Island at the Mission Point Resort where we did the
reception and the rest of the time at the Grob's five bedroom "cottage",
Heartsease. Heartsease was built in the 1870's as part of a Chattaqua
community, Bayview, near Petowski. Everything closes down after Labor Day,
quite literally, the streets are barricaded and all buildings winterized.
They open again around Memorial Day. No walls are insulated, it is like
stepping back in time. Heartsease in on the National Register, so very
little can be done to change it.
Anyway, I am ready to get back to work on the Cashion's. Let me know how we
can best move forward. Should we begin by posting trees on Rootsweb where we
have the ability to attach "post-it's" for comments, etc.? Or is that
Myfamily.com? Remember that I have a complete index of census data locations
which we can begin transcribing.
Let me know.
