Laura, yes, Prudence U. born in 1874 would be the daughter listed in 1880
under Joseph and Delila, age 6. Ages did tend to vary from census to
census - since Joseph was born in 1831 in the 1860 census - depending on
when it was taken he would have been 29 or 30 and by 1880 he should have
been about 49 or 50, but 47 is not that far off, got to remember that
like us they were busy people and sometimes just let the census taker put
down anything to get rid of them. However I do have a question. the
list of children I have for Joseph's father, Robert Logan and Malinda
Cashion is
Sarah M. 1830, Joseph Lell 1831, Cynthia J. 1832, Rebecca A. 1837, Sophia
E. 1844, Margaret M. 1845 and John W. 1859. Now if John W. was born in
1859 then Robert and Malinda were still living and should have been on
the 1850 census - unless they had moved to Kentucky or Illinois for a
short time - but then why not take the children, unless they were just
checking it out - oh, well, the question is , who were the children
listed with Joseph in the 1850 census? Since he didn't marry Delila
until 1855, what children were listed with Joseph in 1850?
Thanks, Carla
When were pete and Lena married? I don't find either of them on my
files. Were they married in Weakley County, Tn?

Carla,
A little help needed here! Would the Ullysus, age 6 listed below be
the
Prudenance Ullysus that married Tilman Brann and be the mother of my
Sula
Brann Cashon? I'm also in search of Pete Cashon and Lena Cashon. They
were
both Cashons that married in Weakley Co. TN.
Thanks,

Subject: A little info
Laura - here is what I have found so far.
Joseph L.M. Cashon married Delila Brann on September 11, 1855, in
Weakley
County, TN.
The 1860 Weakley County Census shows Joseph Cashon, age 30, farmer,
born TN;
Delila, age 30, born Ohio; son John M., age 5 years; and daughter
Elizabeth,
age 4 months. They resided in Civil District 1, which included Elm
Tree and
Boydsville. The census shows Joseph had $500.00 in real estate and
$400.00
in personal property.
The 1880 Weakley County Census shows Joseph L. Cashon, age 48, both
parents
born in Tennessee, he was born in Tennessee, farmer; Lelia, age 47,
born in
Tennessee, father born in Tennessee and mother born in North Carolina;
son
Pleasant A., age 16; daughter Susan E., age 14; daughter July A., age
12;
son James M., age 10; daughter Sarah A., age 8; and daughter Ullysus,
age 6.
I do not know if Delila and Lelia are the same person. If so, there
is an
error somewhere in where she was born.
The 1850 TN Census shows a Joseph Cashon age 25 living with younger
brothers
and sisters (some below age of 10) but no parents in residence.
All I had time for so far.
Tammy
