I saw this site on another List and checked for CASHEN. Here is one of the
bits of information I found there:
First Lieutenant Thomas D. Cashen, of the First Connecticut Artillery, for
gallant and distinguished services during the recent operations resulting in
the fall of Richmond, Virginia, and the surrender of the insurgent army under
General R. E. Lee, to date from April 9, 1865.
I didn't try any alternate spellings. It's very interesting.
