Katherine,
Don't you know the difference between a "PIG" (porker) and a sheep.
Shropshire is a black-face hornless sheep, noted for its heavy fleece and
superior mutton. This sheep originated in Shropshire, England. Look that up
in your "Funk & Wagnalls".

Sorry, I was only quoting what the workmen told me. I do recognise
there's a difference between sheep & pigs, but couldn't tell them by
their names! However, I think there is also a breed of swine called
"Shropshire" that's popular in East Tennessee. Or maybe the people
who gave Mr. Shropshire his nickname were as ignorant about the
subject as I am! (But I doubt it -- they were also farmers, and
probably pretty knowledgable on the topic of livestock.)
Cheers,
Katherine
