SC Petty asked about the origin of the name "Cashdollar." According to Don
Yoder, "Problems and Resources in Pennsylvania German Genealogical
Research," The Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine, vol 31, # 1, 1979, the
name "Cashdollar" comes from the German "Kirschthaler."
"Kirsch" is German for Cherry, and "Thal" means "valley," so
I would guess
that a rough transliteration would be "inhabitant of Cherry Valley."
