Hello, my name is Shirley Ann Blakeney and I am new to this list. I have
begun doing family research into the Cash family. My mother is Alice Ann
Marie (Cash) Blakeney, daughter of Charles & Martina (White) Cash from
Prince Edward Island Canada. I am trying to gather as much information as
possible about the Cash family so I can trace back our roots as far back
and as wide as possible. I would be greatly interested in corresponding
with others to swaop and gather information.
I have come across hundreds of pages of information on briths deaths,
marriages, children etc in the past two weeks including an OLD photo of 6
gentlemen all dressed in their best clothes posing for a family picture.
I am told it is a picture of six Cash Brothers in the 1800's ( I dont have
exact date but may be able to find out once I get ahold of some family
members who are fountains of information). The six brothers are in
Scottland and this photo (I have two copies of the photo) is the last
picture taken of them together because they were all leaving Scottland to
go on their seperate ways to settle else where , across the United States,
etc.
The six brothers names are : Daniel Williams Cash, Patrick Cash, Eneas
Cash, Ambrose Louis Cash, John E Cash, and Joseph Cash.
I also have some information on each of the six brothers on their lives and
where they settled, etc.
As so not to bore you I'll give you a brief description, for a more
detailed one by all means contact me.
Daniel William Cash was always called Will or Bill Cash in the US. He lived
in Chicago for most of his life and was never married.
Eneas Cash was a book keeper in the US and quite a speaker (According to
Aunt Bridget O'Connor). He worked in Iowa, was doing lumbering. He later
lived in Florida.
Ambrose Cash was a railroad engineer almost his life in the US. At age ten
John Jennings (spelling may be wrong writing hard to make out)Cash,
Ambrose's nephew, went to live with Ambrose because he had bad asthma. in
1895 Ambrose moved to Colarado.
Joseph Cash settled in DeKalb and spent most his life there. He worked for
American Steel and Wire Co. Ca part of the US Steel. He never married.
John E Cash was in the grocery business in the US.
I don't have information on Patrick, will have to find out.
Well if you have any information to add or seek more please let me know :)
