I've "rescued" an old photograph of Laura NYE and Royal CASH which was
taken
at the G. S. Beardsley Studio in Charlotte, Michigan. The photograph
appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Laura appearing to be in her
40's or 50's and Royal about 5-6 years old. Based on limited research I've
been able to gather the following information regarding those in the
photograph:
Laura Virnia IVES was b. 21 Nov 1831 in Bedford, Ohio to parents Erastus
Pharaoh IVES (1803-1883) and Rebecca RONK (b. 1800). Laura was one of 5
children born to this couple including Laura; Minerva; Edward; Cordelia; and
Erastus Pharaoh IVES, all born between 1831 and 1843. Laura married Amos
Murtillo NYE (b. 1826 in Bedford, OH-1887) in November 1850 and together
they had two sons Martillo Alonzo NYE (1851-1934) and Edward E. NYE b. 1857,
both born in Bedford, OH. Laura died 10 Apr 1910 in Charlotte, MI. Laura
is buried in the Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet, MI. Royal CASH was b. 1876
and died 5 Aug 1953 and is buried in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte,
MI.
