Dear Dic,
Close but doesn't look like a cigar with me. My family (all that I'm aware) was
on the East Coast but my grandfather was James Casey. My Caseys came from Ballyporeen.
Good luck,
Scott

Greetings,
A few weeks ago I was able to travel to South Carolina doing genealogy
research, and in the SC Archives, I uncovered a Will of Sarah Casey
(Will Book B, Page 150, Box 7, Pkg. 8, recorded Nov 17, 1828) who was
the widow of A. Casey. She states she was the widow of A. Casey, and
that she lived in Spartinburgh (sic). She mentions a daughter Barbary
Casey, and a son Levy, and a daughter Nancy Gambrell who she wills lands
to. She then desires to free a slave Isom on her death. Later in the
will she wills her (deceased) husband's clothes to sons Moses, William,
James & Levy. The date of the will is Aug 15, 1828, and witnessed by a
P.M. Wallace, Randolph Casey, and Martin L. Casey.
I realize this is part of the Abner Casey descendants clan, and I am
most curious about the son James mentioned in the will. My earliest
traceable Casey ancestor was James Hill Casey, b. 1813 in Spartanburg,
SC.
Does anyone have information about this family mentioned above, and
specifically, about the son James?
Thanks,
Dlc
