** High Priority **
Hi-
I'm hoping that someone can give me some guidance. I thought I was doing well having
my g'grandfather, Eugene Casey, being a stone cutter and making his own headstone.
The headstone provided me with the Co/Townland (Ballyporeen) to conduct research.
Not so easy! I'm learning a lot about the Irish views on documentation. Eugene's
death certificate provided the name of his parents. This same family was found in
Ballyporeen but with a five year gap in baptismal records (according to Waterford
Heritage). So, if this is the correct family, I know all about the many children of
Patrick and Johanna Ahearn from 1835 to 1851. Patrick seems to have died in 1876.
My Eugene was in the state of Maine and married by 1871 to Maggie Burke. Can anyone guide
me on obtaining pertinent documentation and confirming my connection to the several Casey
families in this area of Tipperary?
Thank you,
Scott
