Hi John,
I don't think there's a direct link but who knows about the distant ones?
I'd love to find some living connections since I plan to make my first
visit next year.
My Eugene ca. 1846 had many (off top of my head ~ eight ) siblings. I'll
paste some notes via Waterford Research. They are honest and reputable,
have you inquired? Search under that title and tell Fr. Michael Scott
says "hi".
notes:
"Research from Waterford:
Eugene, son of Patrick & Johanna Ahearn. Children of (a) Patrick &
Johanna Casey:
Mary (1832), Hanora (1833), Margaret (1835), John (1837), Patrick
(1838), Bridget ( 1841), Johanna (1843), Ellen (1848), and Thomas Casey
(1851)."
My group came from Ballyporeen and Eugene spent time in ME, NH and MA.
Good luck,
Scott

Scott,
My Great Grandfather, James Casey, was born on 21 February 1831
near
Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. He married Ellen Manly who was born on 17
January 1839 near Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. I have not been able to
determine when they came to the US, but their first child, Richard
Matthew, was born on 19 October 1857 in Columbia, SC.. James and
Ellen
went on to have 12 children in the US, eight of whom lived to their
adult
years.
James Casey had a brother, William Casey, also living in Columbia at
the
time of the 1860 census. William was born in 1830.
I have no additional information on the rest of the Casey family in
County Tipperary, but I would be most grateful if someone has
information
that would tie into this family.
