Hi -
I am researching the possible relationship of Keziah Casey (1813-90) bn
Lincoln Co, KY. It appears that a father-daughter relationship is probable.
Levi was present in Lincoln Co, KY as a 'householder' in 1811. Both of the
US Censuses for 1820 and 1830 for Garrard Co, KY support that Levi and Chloe
(Hill) Casey were the parents of Keziah - 1820 as female under 10 and 1830
as 15-20. The Levi Casey family apparently moved from Lincoln Co to Garrard
Co between 1813 and 1820.
In Garrard Co Nov 1831, John Lewis Adams marries Keziah Casey.
I have seen the following information posted on
Ancestry.com:
Children of Levi and Chloe:
Elizabeth
Levi
Sarah
Siner
Nancy
Rachel
Chloe
Zadoc
I am curious as to the name Zadoc. This is the only place that I have seen
this name posted with this family. I tried sending an e-mail to the person
who submitted the data, but the e-mail bounced.
I am not suggesting that the name Zadoc is not valid, but in some cursive
'Zadoc' could easily have looked like Kesia(h) - even the phonetic could
easily match. The name Keziah is already used with the Casey family, so this
interpretation is not really a stretch.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks
