I am hoping someone can offer a little help.
My snag is no record of an ancestor in
Lawrence Co., KY other than a tomb stone.
He may have come for the wedding in 1835.
This is what I have.
A tombstone in Casey Cemetery Yatesville Road,
north of Fallsburg, KY. William Cazey 1767-4\4\1837
buried in family plot. Making him 70 years old.
Family lore was he was from Ireland.
Seemingly a son, the older of two brothers,
Daniel Casey b. 1\9\1800 Stocks Co. NC.
d. 3\31\1889 Fallsburg, KY m. Mary Dyer b. 3\13\1806,
d. 3\13\1866, no indication of children.
m2. 9\4\1866 to widow Rebecca Wilson Jones Goble
b. 3\6\1814. Marriage resolved within a month.
On the second marriage certificate, Daniel is listed
as age 65, unnamed parents, father from Halifax Co.
Va. and mother from Patrick Co. Va. No other record
of them found as yet.
A younger brother James Casey b. 1805 ( from 1840
Lawrence Co. Ky census shows NC.) birthplace not verified.
Assume NC. He d. near Ironton, Ohio. He m. 3\16\18
1835 Sarah Ann Nease b.(c1818)
The earliest NC census is 1790, no
William Cazey (Casey) listed.
James and Daniel not found on 1810 or 1820 census
in Ky. or NC but found on KY. 1830 census. News and
co. history books says Daniel and James came
to the area in 1820's, to late for 1820 census..
Does anyone have access to Va. records 1767-1800
and North Carolina 1800- 1820 or perhaps some area
in Ky prior to 1837 to locate William his parents and
connection to Daniel and James.?
I found a possible in 1790 NC
Samuel Casey will 1825 m. Sarah -----
and names (lists) Davis Kettel, Daniel, John and William
in this will.
I found a marriage 11\10\1787 to Sarah Taylor listed
in record but not the marriage paper with knowledge of
who this William is where born or any children.
Can you offer assistance?
6th. generation downwards.
