Roger,
I have seen several records that contain Micajah (Sr. ~ 1736-1800) Casey
(New Kent, VA > New Bern, NC) but nothing very "definitive" before him. Some
have mentioned a Charles "Caycey" Cayce (spelled different ways) (1710-1776,
New Kent, VA > Chesterfield > Cumberland, VA) leaving something in his will
to a "Micajah" (but no relationship was mentioned. So, my question is, was
Charles Cayce (sp) Micajah's father? An "Elizabeth" is listed as mother but
no maiden name.
I saw a record (
Ancestry.com) that has Charles father as "Shadrack Cayce"
(1680-1786, New Kent, VA) but no mother and nothing listed before him. Any
idea who Shadrack's parents were?
Thanks for any help!
Best,
Denny Casey, Virginia

Denny, I haven't been following this thread, but I saw Micajah just
now. I think I have a whole line on Micajah and I will look for it.
I could probably scan it and send it to you. Also did you look to see
if your Caseys are in either the Abner or Ambler (two different
Caseys) from NC. You can find their on the internet. If you need
help email me.

Okay. Does it really matter? I have NO idea where they originated.
Much
to my amazement, one of my other lines started (for my research) in
Kentucky
and I ended up finding them in Maine, New York and points in
between.
Sorry, if it inconvenienced anyone that I didn't make the subject change.
