No Joyce, the Franklin County, GA court records (which I found in the loose
papers at the Roane Co., TN Archives) were concerning the debt of Jesse Casey
to William Wray - and somehow involving a William Elliott (need to abstract
these records). The beginning of the case was in the year 1788 obviously
while Jesse Casey was still in Georgia but continued after he moved to Tennessee.
OK, I just noticed a problem here! Had not noticed before that the date was
1788 so the Jesse Casey in question could not be the Jesse Casey who was
still in Spartanburg County, SC in 1790 - and according to your deed he was still
there in 1794. Looks like another Jesse Casey in the mix. Need to do more
work here.

Vonda…does the lawsuit you mentioned in a separate message have anything to
do with this unlawful taking of the slave out of the state of Georgia?
