Here is what I have addiitonally regarding this John Casey family. I got
these abstracted references online, but taken from the National Gen. Soc.
Qtrly. These deeds are useful as clues especially for the "Green" surname
connection (by proximity, at least) and placing an earlier date of this
John's presence in Burke Co, GA (though I suppose just because he bought
land there doesn't mean he necessarily lived there). Also, one of them
establishes his wife's name as Mary. Nothing here equates exactly to the
262 ac granted to this John Casey (per later references), but maybe he had
more land than that. - Joyce H.
National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volume 54, Burke County, p. 49:
"15 Feb. 1804, Milberry Harrill to John Casey, both of Burke Co., 100
ac., reg. 23 Jan 1800. Wit.: Ben. Green, Daniel Green."
[Is one of these dates wrong or mistyped? 1800 is before 1804 - would need
to look at original deed book or film to verify. - jh]

"8 Mar 1809, John Cross to John Scrutchin, both of Burke Co., 238 a.,
next to Z. Haslip, John Raiford, Chas. C. Jenkins. Land sold by Han &
Geo. Mathews and Geo. Handley to Philip Scott, who sold to Chas. C.
Jenkins, who sold to John Casee. Wit.: Benj. Green, James Kennedy."

"13 Aug 1818, John Bass to Stephen Hines, both of Burke Co., 80 a.,

Same source, p. 51:
"10 Jan 1835, Mory Casee to Josiah Schruchins (sic), both of Burke

Mary Chursey. Wit.: John H. Tooke, Benj. Jones, Robt. Pryor."
