The William Casey below (S 32 158) was all over the map! Born 1759 in
Franklin Co., NC. He enlisted first time in South Carolina (indicated he was living
in 96 Dist when he entered the service and he was in a battle at Savannah).
Three other enlistments all in North Carolina. After the war he lived in
Wilkes Co., Georgia about 24 years, then moved to Morgan County, Georgia and 10
years later moved to Autauga County, Alabama. He lived in Shelby County,
Alabama in the year 1832 and then returned to Autauga County, Alabama, where he
was residing in 1834. Records of the Comptroller General, General Accounting
Office, Washington, D.C. indicate that on March 4, 1848 he had been living in
Autauga County, Alabama for 10 months and that he previously lived in Coosa
County, and in Autauga County before that time. The last payment of his
pension, covering the period from September 4, 1846 to March 4, 1848 was made on
March 24, 1848 at the Pension Agency, Mobile, Alabama to George W. Tarleton, as
attorney for the pensioner.
Wm Casey listed as Rev. pensioner in 1840 Coosa Co., AL census - living with
M. B. Casey who I assume is the Micajah Casey age 39 (born GA) in 1850 Coosa
Co. census. (Think you are right Joyce he must be the William Casey listed
on the 1785 Tax List in Wilkes Co., GA) Was interested in William because at
one time he was in Spartanburg Co., SC. Anyone know if there were other
children in addition to Micajah? (I assume Micajah is his son).
