Dorothy,
If you are writing about the Miles Casey that was the son of James Calvin
Casey Sr. and the grandson of Jeremiah Casey:
Miles was born about 1815 in NC, most likely Richmond Co. He moved with
his family to southeast AL about 1831 to the area that became Barbour Co in
1832. Very little is know of Miles. He fought in the 1837 Indian Wars and
died about 1839. It is said that he committed suicide. He left 3 minor
heirs, Hiram, James Jr., and Nancy, who all chose their grandfather as their
guardian in the February 1842 Barbour Co Orphan's Court. So he probably
married 1833-1834 and had 3 children. Nothing is known of his wife.
I have more details if anyone is interested.
Sam Casey
