Donna, Don, Lorene and anyone else who is interested:
Sorry guys, I should have told you in my first message that I no longer have
books to sell. Sold the last of them at the June Casey reunion in Tulsa. I
decided not to reprint because since I printed the book (1995) I have received
a tremendous amount of new information. In 1995 when I compiled the book I
had documented 3753 descendants of Jesse E. Casey. As of now I have about
5000 descendants.
If all goes well I may decide to compile a 2nd revised edition (1995 was a
revised edition) next year. In the meantime I will be happy to share any info
I have. If you think you might be a descendant just let me know and I will
check my database.
Yes, Donna, S. C. Turnbo did write some marvelous tales about people in the
Ozarks and several of them were about Caseys. I don't know how true they were
but they make interesting reading! If they are true those Casey men were sure
a fearless bunch! The Jasper you mentioned was the grandson of Jesse E.
Casey. He was the son of Jesse E's son, Stephen Casey.
Donna, I assume your Mary Casey is the one who married William Penland.
Interesting thing - William Penland came to Madison Co., AL (where I now live)
after he divorced Mary. He was quite well known here.
If any of you Jesse E. Casey descendants would like to share or exchange info
just let me know. I'll be glad to help in any way i can.
