I am interested in a direct ancestor Michael CASEY. I have found
records
in Spain, where he married Clara CavallJ from Minorca, relating to his
daughter
Francisca CASEY. His wife Clara CavallJ was baptised a catholic in
Ciudedela , Minorca, in 1784.
His daughter's birth certificate in Reus, Spain, indicates that
he was
born in Carrick, > Ireland. .Initial searches in Ireland have not
revealed
anything to locate which Carrick he came from. His occupation , in the
Spanish records, was given as 'fabricant', this would be any type of
craftsman. From the dates of his > wife and daughter he would appear to have
been born about 1780, and to > have died about 1825 (in Spain). Anecdotal
family stories suggest that he was an instructor in seamanship. Searches in
Spain have failed to reveal Michael Casey's marriage or death records.
Clara Casey and her daughter Francisca travelled to Gibralter to live after
the death of Michael CASEY.
* Can anyone help?
