By any chance did Randolph Casey and Charity Pennington have a daughter,
Nancy, who married a John Dotson from VA about 1805 and lived in Macon
(now Smith)County, TN on land alloted to her as her dower in her
husband's estate in 1847?
Thanks,
Gerie Dodson-Smith

your wife descends from Randolph Casey who died in Smith Co or Macon Co TN ,
i did send you his will I hope, because I do have a copy. So Hiram Casey who
married Catherine DePriest. Now Randolph was married twice? I have read
where some Pennington researchers said that Charity was the second wife and
that Mary Pennington was her sister and Randolph's first wife. (Note: not
proven in Randolph's will he names Charity as his wife also in Zadok Casey
papers that have been written it states that Zadok , his wife and his
elderly mother came to IL this is in a biography of Zadok Casey.)( I assume
in the biography it is Charity.)
Zadok Casey settled Jefferson Co IL , he was also Lt. Gov of IL in 184? ,
His brother Levi Casey settled in Johnson Co IL in the early 1820"s.
Now Hiram is the noted preacher written about in TN.
The DePriest name is also in Jefferson Co IL m. to descendants of Randolph
Casey died Smith Co TN or Macon Co TN.
I believe Randolph's son Isaac was in Barren Co KY and was sherriff there
and later migrated to Jefferson Co IL.
Randolphs son Randolph believe went to Arkansas (maybe grandson have to
check.)
Don go to rootsweb and go to IL and counties and look in Jefferson Co IL and
see what is there. I have collected alot but not on Hiram Casey other than
what I have found from family members and internet and library.
I am like you Don I collect and research from it.
