Gail,
You might be in luck if your Margaret Casey was from County Clare because
the Clare County Library (
www.clarelibrary.ie ) has a very meaty family
history section with lots of databases. If Jeremiah was from Limerick then
you might concentrate your database search on Clare townlands near the
Clare/Limerick border. Of course, there is a problem in that the major
information sources were the Tithe Applotments (1820s) and the Griffiths
Valuation (ca. 1855) and your time points (ca. 1825 and the 1850s) fall
between these two. However, you might find Jeremiah's parents in the Tithe
Applotments.
Also, post on the Clare Past forum at
http://www.ourlibrary.ca/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=15 just in case anyone there
picks up your thread (and also to maximise its Google exposure).

I too am searching for a Jeremiah CASEY. Mine was born in Ireland around
1825. He and his wife Margaret (MEADE) settled in Virginia in the 1850s
and
moved to Chicago around 1862.
They had Timothy, John, Patrick, Mary, Margaret, and Daniel.
Their daughter's death certificates say that Jeremiah was from County
Limerick and Margaret was from County Clare.
Kendell, if you ever find mention of my Jeremiah, while you're looking for
yours, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Of course I will do likewise.
If any of the listers here have any clues about these elusive CASEYs, I
would be so happy to hear from you.
Thanks,
Gail Henry
