I just looked over Richard Wilson's web page that compares
genealogy programs, and noticed that he does not even
include the one that some of us consider to be superior --
Brother's Keeper, available at
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Brothers_Keeper/
I left him some e-mail to that effect.

Subject: [CASEY-L] Genealogy Software Comparisons - Website
Here's an independent web site that compares genealogy software
programs
in
an easy-to-follow chart format showing the features of each. It also
has
the links to the vendors' home pages.
http://www.cagenweb.com/rwilson/comparison.htm
There's a RootsWeb mailing list category called "Software" under which
there
are specialty lists for several softwares including Family Origins
and
several releases of PAF. It's searchable but the brower capability doesn't
seem to be working right now. Maybe it's because they're revamping things.
Software is listed under "Other" at
http://lists.rootsweb.com/
(A professional genealogist was sitting next to me at the library one day
working on her laptop, and I inquired about her software program. After
she
recommended Family Origins, I purchased it after trying a couple of
other
programs, and have liked it. The price is very reasonable. Have enjoyed
hearing comments on other programs, too.)
