Sorry I did not see Ed's original Post so forgive this being post to the List.
I have living next to my James Casey. in 1860 Wayne County MO Census
a Thomas Casey (sure he is related)
Descendants of Thomas Casey
1 Thomas CASEY b: Abt. 1827 NC
+Nancy RAMSEY b: Abt. 1833 KY
2 Nancy J. CASEY b: 1853 KY
2 Louisa CASEY b: Abt. 1856 KY
2 Martha CASEY b: Abt. 1856 KY
2 Chas CASEY b: Abt. 1861 MO
2 Alice Ann CASEY b: Abt. 1864 MO
2 Mahala CASEY b: Abt. 1867 MO
2 Thomas CASEY b: Abt. 1870 MO
This is the same pattern as my James Casey who I believe is James Robert but
not sure of middle name, (got it from Cousin) I descend from James Son
James Robert Casey. We have found Thomas's widow living next to our Casey's
in Butler County.

[ Page Haws information from Cletis R. Ellinghouse who did a History on the
Kim area of Wayne County, MO]
When I was young I asked my Grandmother (1950s) About Her parents family and
did she go visit any of them? She said that most of her relations were in
other Counties and a long distance from them that they would have to get up
really early in the morning and milk the cows and then travel most of the
day, and then try and get back so they could milk the cows again or else get
someone to come in and milk the cows and feed the chickens etc. So they did
not visit very often. As it was the same for all the families and some lived
out of state. Wish I had written down names and places. Any suggestions on
how far from Greenville Wayne County, MO you could go and return in one day
in the 1880s?
Thank you
