I wrote once before and didn't get an answer, I don't think it went thru, so
here goes again, and please if anyone can shed any light on these people I
would appreciate your input.
I am related to Bowmans, thru my grandmother, I found this interesting
information on the web on Arkansas land records, Little River County,
E-Lah-Tah-Tubbe and IL-Lah-Tambe were assignees of land in 1888 , and on
April 10, 1900, Ok-Lish-Le-Mah and IL-Lah-Tambe either gave or sold this land
to Margaret A. Bowman, each of them had 80 acres. A James E. Bowman also had
land very close to these Indians in 1890. What I don't know is who this
Margaret Bowman is for sure and I definitely don't know which Indian tribe
these people would have belonged too. were they Cherokees or Creek or some
other tribe, can anyone tell by the names?
Thank you anyone for any help you may be able to give me.
