I am a new member to this group and have already found
it to be very useful. I am wondering if anyone has any
information on this family group:
Husband: James Casey b. 1788 1798 in South Carolina
Wife: Ann (a) Last Name Unknown b. 1795 in South
Carolina
Known Children:
Pertilla Casey b. 1824 in South Carolina
Augustus W. Casey b. 1827 South Carolina d. aft 1870
m. Telitha Caroline Trail (my ggg-grandparents)
Jane Casey b. 1832 in South Carolina
Sarah A. Casey b. 1833 in Georgia
Oliver W. Casey b. 1838 in Georgia d. 1862 at the
Battle of Shiloh
This family group first appears, as far as I can find,
in the Cass County 1850 Census. Later, they move to
Winston and Lawrence Counties in Alabama.
South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research, South
Carolina Marriages, Vol. 8, does record a marriage
record between a James Casey and Ann in Spartanburg, I
believe, around 1820.
I am wondering if this James Casey could be the same
that is mentioned as a son of the widow Sarah Casey
and A. Casey in her will as recorded in the
Spartanburg Will Book B. pgs. 150-152.
If anyone has any information that might help
determine the parents of James or the full name of
Ann, I would be very grateful!
