I have Lawrence CASEY, born in NJ in 1849. His parents were from Ireland
....Mark CASEY and Bridget FINNEGAN (?). They lived briefly in NJ then
moved on to IL where his sister Catherine was born in 1853. A brother
Patrick John was born in Ireland Aug 15, 1844, as well as brother James,
born 1839, Winnefred born 1840 and Mary born 1845 (all in Ireland). My
father used to talk of his family ancestors that lived on the land where the
Chicago fire started and I remember some reference to Peg Leg Sullivan.
Unfortunately he didn't have an address so when he wrote to Cook County in
the late 1940's for information he was not successful. I have not tried to
look there yet. This family finally homesteaded in Dakota County, MN about
1855. I would be interested if any of this information clicks. Thanks for
the inquiry.
