Corrigan, Michael C., born in Freshford, Co. Kilkenny on Feb. 16, 1816, (Note:
Andreas gives the incorrect date of Feb. 20, 1820) at the age of 24 he came to the U.S.
where he went to Hudson, NY thence to Albany working as a horseshoer. On Aug. 28,
1844 he arrived in Chicago. He went into the real estate business in 1854, and resided at
29th and Prairie ave. He married July 24, 1848, Mary Casey of Chicago. The family were
members of St. James parish. He died Oct. 3, 1887, his wife died Nov. 1, 1901, aged 76
years. Their son Martin C. Corrigan, died Sept. 3, 1883, aged 25 yrs., 1 month. Mary
Casey Corrigan, had two brothers in Chicago, also natives of Freshford, Co. Kilkenny --
Lawrence died March 11, 1896, aged 77 yrs., and Dennis Casey died April 17, 1895,

Nellie Crowley, wife of John J., undertaker, died at her resid., 3718 S. Halsted st., Feb.
20 from the effects of an operation which she underwent five days previously, aged 50
yrs. She was born in Gurtahuckty, Parish Eveleary, Co. Cork. Besides her husband, she
leaves three children--Mrs. Martin Gleason, Mrs. Joseph Jovenett and Michael T.
Crowley. Funeral occured from Nativity Church to Mt. Olivet. The pallbearers were her
six nephews--Michael, Dennis and John Crowley, Timothy Casey, Daniel Lynch and
