Probably too late now, Carrie, but I'm just back from Dublin and found both
the National Archives & National Library geneologists very helpful. Start
with the latter.

Subject: [CASEY-L] Heading to Ireland
Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2006 12:03:55 EDT
Heading to Dublin next week - My Daniel Casey was from County Cork, came to
the USA abt 1853, thru Boston and then went on to Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Married a JoHanna Towey abt 1859 at St. John's Cathedral in Milwaukee, WI
after
her death he married Elizabeth Power(s) in March 1870 at St. John's.
Elizabeth
Power(s) came from NewTown Parish County Cork about 1868, her parents were
William and Mary McCarthy Power(s), her mother remarried a Patrick Maher
and
lived in Milwaukee, WI. Elizabeth's sister married Helen or Ellen married
a
Thomas Dwyer who's family also lived in Pewaukee, WI Michael and Bridget
Dwyer.
Clues to any of the above would be welcome - since most of the records in
Ireland were destroyed in 1922 - I haven't found a lot (none) of hard copy
regarding my families lives in Ireland. Any ideas welcome.
Carrie
