My "brick wall" is in trying to find who are the parents of James Hill
Casey, b. 1813 in Spartanburg, SC. A memoriam written at his death
states he moved to Wayne Co., TN with his family by 1817 or so. He
married Jane Turnbow in 1832 in said county, and they proceeded to have
15 children, 11 of whom lived to adulthood. They migrated to Texas
(Williamson Co.) in 1851. Late in life, JH Casey and Jane moved to
Young Co., TX (probably after 1885--maybe as late as 1898) to live with
their youngest son John Wesley Casey. JH Casey died in 1901 and is
buried in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer (ghost town), Young Co., TX. Jane
followed him in death in 1904.
I descend through his son Willis Casey, b. 1836 in Wayne Co., TN. I
believe his father was _likely_ connected to the Abner Casey or
descendants of "CFA" fame...i.e. eventually coming from Ireland in the
1730's or thereabouts. This belief is secondary to the fact that most
SC Caseys in Spartanburg/Newberry (up-country) area seem to have been
descendants of Abner (or Peter, his brother) Casey, of County Tyrone,
Ireland. (The CFA website is at
http://www.cfainusa.org I believe...)
My website outlining this information is at
http://www.casey-genealogy.com
I have several sites on my Casey heritage there, including a link to my
GEDCOM on
Ancestry.com (Ancestry WorldTree). I also recently put up a
page of a converted PDF file to webpage that is a register report of my
Casey heritage here:

Several researchers have been working for many years on this line
without success. I recently visited South Carolina to research the line
with very little to show for it. Wayne Co., TN is on my list. Some
researchers believe his parents' names may be Ira and Catherine Hill
Casey, but since he _may_ have been in Wayne Co., TN by 1820, I
researched the 1820 census there finding 2 Caseys, both named ABNER
(interestingly) and only 1 of these has a child the right age to be
James Hill Casey, b. 1813.
Please visit my site(s) and see what you think. Any leads appreciated,
or if I can help you in any way, please notify me. Basically my Casey
trail (that I know of) leads from South Carolina to Tennessee and then
on to Texas for the last century and a half or so, with a few folks
heading further West from there (but most, like myself staying here in
the Lone Star State).
Thanks again!

Hello all you Casey researchers. With the new year upon us I thought it
would be a good time to start looking for dead ends again. Mine is
William Casey B: 1876 m: Minnie Belle Kuykendall b: 1871. Family las
located in Cairo, Illinois, I do believe I have a connection to Liberty,
Stoddard County, Missouri think I found William's mother Martha Casey
and William as a child living with Martha's brother Levi Porter. She is
widowed. Looking for any info on the Porter family and William's father
no idea who he is. Found the name of Robert at one time. Have a great
new year.
Thanks,
Lori
