Who is this Cooley Woman's Husbands' parents? Or did he have a sister named
Judith Cooley?
Also the surname Cain any idea's as to where this line came from at all, I
mean I know that your not doing Cain but still folks did travel together
often times. The reason I ask is this
Another line that I do as well as Casey's....................is Cockrum or
Cockerham as in the old days! This surname is also linked into Cain's in
Greenville Dist. SC which lies just over the mountain from Spartanburg SC
which is really not that far as the crow flies!
Also of interest is this, My Cockrum line connects into the Cooley's as
well.
My interest is simple really, Could my mysterious 4th Great Grandmother
have been Elizabeth Cooley at birth?
Did Judith Cooley who married Hezikiah, the husband later of Elizabeth ??
have a sister named Elizabeth who was older than she was?
Also another one of my Cockrums' later down the line from Hez. married a
Harris FYI and fun!
Now What about the Morris bunch..............never seen this before so can't
speak about that at all!
Opinions anyone?
Gail

...please tell me about your findings on any other Christopher's.
Re: "Other Christophers..." you inquired about, Tim...
An interesting one is the Christopher Casey on the 1804/05 tax list in
Franklin Co., GA. Reference, "Franklin County Georgia Records, p. 45 by
Frances Wynd. Who is this Christopher? I have suspected that he would
be tied up somehow with Abraham Pennington Casey who was in north
Georgia in 1793-1795:
1 Oct 1793, Franklin Co., GA muster roll taken by Samuel Walters, Capt.
Abraham Casey was on the muster roll of 1st Co. Dist. "commencing at the
mouth of Lightwoodlog Creek...." [jhh note: I believe this to be
Abraham P. or Pennington Casey since one Abraham Penington Casey
witnessed the deed of John and Sarah Morris to Cornelius Cain in 1795
for land on Lightwoodlog Creek. The deed was faded and torn but his
name can be made out as stated.]
There were other Casey/Morris connections in Georgia, but I'm getting
into the "octopus syndrome" so will leave at this for now. - Joyce
