I have been trying to locate information about my g-granfather, Andrew
Jackson (Andy) Casey, b. 27 Sep 1862, m. Mollie Corley in Lamar Co., Texas,
d. 28 May 1934. Some family sources say he came from Mississippi, but they
provide no county name. I'm in the process of checking out Lamar County,
and am finding a number of Caseys there. I seem to hitting brick walls so
far. >>
There is not a Casey family in the 1870 census of Lamar Co, TX. My Casey
relatives show up in Lamar Co before 1880, having moved south from MO. My
direct line is g grandmother Mary Jane CASEY who married Littleton CLARKSON
in St Clair Co, MO. Their youngest child was born in TX. Mary Jane had
several brothers who moved south at the same time. The record from Mary
Jane's Bible should be in the Archives under Casey.
