over census' and tax lists looking for verification of information is tedious but
oh so necessary. I have been wanting to find the time to do this but just haven't

Entry usually meant that a person paid a tenth the price of the land with the
requirement that he live on the land make improvements clear the land and
build structures etc. then usually after 7 years he was permitted to apply for
a grant. Revolutionary soldiers had entries and sometimes they sold their
entry to civilians for the money. This was not land in the Hiwassee purchase,
that treaty was not signed until 1817 and again in 1819. These were called the
"Treaties of Tellico".The name Casey was misspelled as Casy several times.
The 0 white poll may mean that Abner had died but his family continued to
occupy the land with no one of age to fight in the militia or vote or work on
the roads.
